JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Medical Assistant in our Duke Urogynecology at Patterson Place located in Durham, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team to provide direct and indirect care to patients.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Completing intake and room placement of patient it includes obtaining Vital Signs, medical history, reason for visit.
Assigning and directing patients to exam rooms
Assisting in exams completed by physicians and APPs
Ensuring the necessary equipment is stocked, communicating with management when supplies need to be ordered
Cleaning and turnover of exam rooms
Transportation of dirty medical equipment to the processing room following clinic guidelines
Cleaning and sterilization of reusable equipment
Calling patients to complete pre-charting
Rescheduling patients as needed and requested
Chaperoning physicians, APPs, nurses and sonographers when requested
Other duties as assigned
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred. High School diploma or GED graduation required
Work generally requires six months of experience in the healthcare setting. Education in a health related field can be used as a substitute for the experience.
Must be fully certified as a Medical Assistant (AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA) within 18 months of hire.
JOB HOURS:
The schedule for this position would be day shifts Monday to Friday.
