Responsibilities
The Senior Coordinator, Tax is responsible for assisting members of the Corporate Tax Department in processing tax reports, payments, mail, and returns, maintaining the tax compliance calendar, importing returns and support into document storage, correspondence, and other tax-related duties. Requirements include the ability to work independently, excellent communication and organizational skills.
Maintain and manage Tax Calendar to ensure all returns are completed by staff within filing deadlines
Complete the monthly roll over Tax Calendar
Processing tax returns by attaching required schedules and forms and making necessary copies, importing returns into document storage, and marking off the calendar
Mailing tax returns and other filings and correspondence, including certified mail requirements
Sorting and distributing incoming mail
Maintain Tax Notice Control Log: routing the notices to the appropriate team member and ensure the notices are completed and finalized
Maintain and manage documents for the electronic document storage system
Manage archiving and record-keeping of tax returns and documents with offsite storage facility
Coordinate obtaining signatures from officers of the companies on tax returns and reports
Write and maintain policies and procedures for review and approval by Tax Department Management
Coordinate/assist with other projects as needed
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
3 to 5 yearsâ™ office administrative experience
Prior Tax Department experience is preferred
Knowledge/Skils:
Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills exercising discretion and diplomacy in working with others including all levels of management needed; pro-active thinker, positive attitude, maintain confidentiality
Ability to handle multiple projects and shift priorities as necessary to meet deadlines
Ability to handle stress while operating with a sense of urgency and using good judgment
Overtime may be required during peak times
Maintain high degree of professionalism
Software:
Proficiency in Excel and Word required
