DescriptionAre you passionate about making a difference in children’s lives? We’re seeking a dedicated LVN to join our team at the Westwood Children's Health Center clinic! In this impactful role, you’ll work alongside a compassionate team, delivering outstanding primary and specialty care to children of all ages in a supportive outpatient environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Record and monitor patient vitals and medical history
Conduct blood draws with precision
Administer injections, performing skin prick tests, and other procedures for testing
Perform EKGs
Administer medications (including PO, IM, SQ, PR, Intradermal, Topical, Inhalants, Eye drops, and Ear drops)
Collect and manage patient specimens accurately
Maintain clean and well-stocked patient rooms
Salary Range: $36.34-47.94 Hourly
QualificationsRequired:
• Possess active license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with Intravenous Therapy and blood withdrawal certification listed.
• Possession of active BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed.
• Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
• Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or life threatening medical problems.
• Perform phlebotomy, CPR, Injections, and other skills within scope of practice.
• Interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff, and all health providers.
• Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, Windows computer function, computer navigation, and ability to use computerized patient care systems.
• Knowledge of all safety requirements when handling biohazardous specimens or contaminated instruments
• Verbal skills to effectively convey sensitive information in a courteous manner in person or on the telephone.
